The body, mind, and soul—my personal trinity. This isn’t a lesson from my Catholic upbringing, though the echo of the sign of the cross lingers when I speak it. These three elements define who I am. In college, I thought I’d cracked the code: a healthy body, a knowledgeable mind, and a soul that channels both to connect with the world. I felt enlightened, as if naming these parts unlocked my potential.
But knowing is not enough. I once believed I had all the answers, but neglecting any part of this trinity dulled my best self. The mind gathers knowledge and guides the body. The body, through its senses, nourishes the mind and soul. The soul, the spark within, drives both to create harmony. Yet, chasing fleeting “feel-goods” without growth leads to stagnation—a purgatory of diminishing returns.
Recently, I’ve recommitted to leveling up all three. My mind craved clarity, clouded by past substance abuse that dulled my ability to thrive. Sobriety sharpened my focus, letting me pursue what I love. With a clearer mind, I turned to my body, embracing a consistent physical routine—not to become a fitness guru, but to honor purposeful effort. Rain or shine, I join the F3 brothers each morning, syncing sleep and sweat with intention.
A sharper mind and stronger body now feed my soul. This harmony creates a virtuous cycle, each part elevating the others. I’m not here to prescribe a path or claim I’ve mastered mine. I share this glimpse of my journey to spark reflection on yours. Perhaps, together, we can level up—not just as individuals, but as a community, stepping into a new class of growth.
